Being a mother... There is a lot to it. You will wear many different hats at many different times. It is a beautiful chaos that is not for the faint of heart. You are constantly changing, learning, and growing.
Anyone can be a mother. There are stepmoms, fur baby moms, aunts, grandmas, teachers, friends, dads even... Anyone with a nurturing and compassionate soul is a mother in my eyes.
There are good moms and bad moms. As long as you are trying, then let go of the mom guilt and applaud yourself. You are Incredible, and doing a fantastic job! You will never fail, only learn.
Mothers Day can be difficult for a lot of people, for a lot of different reasons. Fertility issues, a spouse who doesn’t acknowledge it, past traumas, and so on. For whatever reason... If you want Mother’s Day to be special, make it happen. Do something for you, and don’t feel guilty about it. You deserve it!
—Communicate with your spouse, family, or friends and let them know your feelings. Know that your feelings are valid, and are meant to be understood.
—Tell your kids to make you something. Give them supplies or money to go to the store. I know that might be lame because you want them to do it on their own, but you just might have to swallow your pride and make it happen.
—Don‘t be ashamed to treat yourself. Maybe for Mother's Day, you want alone time. Don’t feel afraid to ask for that. You work hard, and you deserve it! I’m sure most mothers would agree with you.
—Message me your address, and I’ll send you a Mother’s Day card if you like. Everyone should feel appreciated and acknowledged on such a day.
No matter what you do for Mother’s Day, I hope you enjoy it. Just know that you are loved, you are important, your voice and feelings matter. You are strong and courageous and can keep moving forward. You got this!
I’m always rooting for you friend.
Happy Mothers Day!
Much Love,
Love Tiffany
